Hi, I’m looking for someone who can provide in-home pet sitting for my senior dog, Madison. She’ll be turning 18 in late September, and she’s a very sweet lady who just needs some extra help these days. Madison no longer has the use of her back legs, so she relies on a harness for support. On slippery floors, she needs a full lift, while outside on grass, she needs back-lift support with her leash. She weighs about 38 lbs., so whoever helps her will need to be comfortable lifting that weight with the harness. She also has a doggy wheelchair that keeps her upright for eating and drinking. The most essential part of care is simply being with her and watching for when she needs to go out. Ideally, that would be in at least a 5-hour block, but the timing is flexible—daytime or overnight and can vary by day or skip days as needed. She spends most of her time sleeping. If you have experience with senior dog care or working with a dog in a harness, that would be helpful, but not required. We live in a single-family home in Talamore, on the west side of US47 off Reed Road in Huntley.
