Christy Barker is joining Showtime Performing Arts as “Lady Capulet” and “Witch 1.” This is her second Shakespeare role after retiring from teaching and directing theatre. This past summer, Christy jumped back into performing with Shakespeare in the Heights’ production of Much Ado About Nothing as “Ursula. Her love of theatre started when she was pulled from a high school audience to be a “dead body” in Wayne High School’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace. She went on to perform and direct for the next 30+ years. She, and her husband, Benjamin co-directed and performed together over the years. Their son, Jonathan, followed this love by directing, playwriting, and performing. In her spare time, she and her family wrangle a mini-farm of creatures near the Englewood Reserve.
